The post-launch problem

Software does not stand still after go-live

Users, processes, vendors and business priorities change. Without clear ownership, minor issues accumulate, workarounds return and valuable improvement ideas remain unfinished.

Issues Lack Ownership

Staff do not know who should investigate, what information is required or when the next update will arrive.

Workarounds Return

Teams fall back to spreadsheets, messages and duplicate entry when the system no longer fits the real workflow.

Dependencies Change

APIs, credentials, browsers, devices and third-party platforms change around the solution.

Requests Become a Wish List

Enhancements are collected without a shared way to compare urgency, effort and operational value.

Failures Go Unnoticed

Background jobs and integrations can fail silently until a customer, invoice or operational hand-off is affected.

Knowledge Walks Away

Important system and workflow knowledge is lost when it is not documented and shared across the support relationship.

One ongoing relationship

Support today’s operation while improving tomorrow’s

We separate urgent operational support from planned improvement, then manage both through a visible process.

Capture

Record the issue, request, affected workflow and business impact.

Assess

Confirm urgency, reproduce the problem and identify dependencies or risk.

Prioritise

Agree whether to restore service, schedule a fix or explore an improvement.

Deliver

Build, test, approve and release the change through a controlled process.

Review

Confirm the outcome, document learning and update the improvement backlog.

What the service can include

A practical support model shaped around operational risk

Coverage is agreed around the systems, hours, dependencies and business impact involved—not presented as an unlimited promise.

  • Issue investigation and resolution for agreed applications, integrations and workflows.
  • Monitoring and exception review for selected business-critical background processes.
  • Security, dependency and compatibility maintenance where included in the support scope.
  • Small enhancements and workflow refinements managed through an agreed monthly capacity or separate estimate.
  • Regular service and improvement reviews with priorities, decisions and next actions made visible.

Three types of work

Know what is included—and what requires a separate decision

Operational Support

Investigate faults, restore agreed functionality and communicate progress based on the impact and coverage agreed.

Preventive Maintenance

Review system health, integrations, logs, dependencies and recurring incidents before they create larger disruption.

Continuous Improvement

Prioritise and deliver enhancements that reduce manual work, improve visibility or strengthen the user experience.

Start with a solution review

Understand What Is Working, What Is At Risk and What Should Improve Next

For an existing Isoft solution—or a business-critical system that needs clearer ownership—we begin by reviewing usage, issues, dependencies and the operational value being achieved.

A clear baselinebefore agreeing coverage, priorities, responsibilities and an improvement cadence
  • Current system usage and operational dependency
  • Open issues, recurring workarounds and user feedback
  • Integration, hosting, security and vendor dependencies
  • Prioritised recommendations and suitable engagement model

How we establish support

Make expectations and accountability clear from the beginning

01

Solution Review

Understand the system, workflow, users, dependencies, history and present concerns.

02

Coverage Agreement

Define supported components, contacts, priorities, hours, exclusions and escalation.

03

Support Transition

Confirm access, environments, documentation, monitoring and request handling.

04

Review & Improve

Review service patterns and agree the next highest-value improvements.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about ongoing support

Do you support systems that Isoft did not originally build?

Potentially. We first complete a technical and operational review to understand the codebase, environments, documentation, licensing, security and third-party dependencies before accepting responsibility.

Is every change included in the monthly support fee?

No. The agreement should clearly distinguish covered support, included improvement capacity and separately estimated project work. This protects both priority and budget.

Can you guarantee a particular response or resolution time?

Response targets depend on the agreed support plan, coverage hours and severity definitions. Resolution time also depends on diagnosis, access and third-party involvement, so it should not be promised before the issue is understood.

How are improvement requests prioritised?

We consider operational impact, urgency, risk, affected users, implementation effort and dependencies, then agree priorities with the responsible business owner.

Can support include integrations and scheduled jobs?

Yes, where they are included in scope and appropriate monitoring, access and recovery procedures are established.

What happens if the system needs a major rebuild?

We will explain the evidence and options. A major modernisation would be treated as a separately scoped project rather than hidden inside routine support.

Is a business-critical system missing clear ongoing ownership?
